Japan By Rail (1st ed. P190: Feb. 2002) |
The best bargain and conveniently close to the Kyoto station, is the new, friendly, spotless hostel Tour Club Kyoto (Tel 075-353-6968, fax 075-353-6978, web www.kyotojp.com), a very small hostel with four-bed bunk dorms set around a small rock garden. The over night charge is 2300yen with breakfast at 290yen. For a bit more privacy, opt for one of the newly renovated twins(7400yen) or triples(8900yen).
Facilities include internet access (50yen/5mins) and the cheapest bike rental in Kyoto.
