One day trip to Osaka (大阪)

 

JR special rapid service (goes every 15mins) takes only 28 mins to Osaka and it costs only 540yen, so you can easily make a day trip to Osaka.

Sights in Osaka 大阪

1. Umeda Sky Building (梅田スカイビルRecommended!

This building consists of two 40-story towers that connect at their two uppermost stories. The building features a rooftop observatory “The Floating Garden Observatory (空中庭園)” , as well as a underground market called Takimi Koji (滝見小路) that attempts to recreate the atmosphere of Osaka in the early 20th century.

Access: 10mins walk from JR Osaka Sta., Open: 10:00-22:30, Fee (observatory): 700 yen

 

2. Osaka Castle (大阪城Recommended!

This is one of Japan's most famous castles, and played a major role in the unification of Japan during the late 16th century.

Access: From JR Osaka, take JR Osaka Loop Line to Osakajo Koen Sta.

Open: 9:00-17:00, Fee: 600 yen

 

3. Kaiyukan Aquarium (海遊館)  Recommended!

This is one of the largest aquariums in the world. It is located near subway Osakako Station.

Access: From JR Osaka, take subway Midosuji Line to Honmachi Sta. and change subways there to subway Chuo Line. Then get off at Osakako Sta. (270yen)

Open: 10:00- 20:00 Fee: Adult 2,000 yen, Child 900 yen

 

4. Universal Studios Japan (ユニバーサルスタジオ)

The park is a branch of Universal Studios (in USA), containing many of the same rides of the Universal Studios, Orland/Hollywood. It is located near JR Universal City Station.

Open: 10:00- 20:00 Fee: Adult 5,800 yen, Child 3,900 yen
